Historical Background
GEFIU, also known as The Association of Chief Financial Officers Germany, is a prominent organization in Germany’s financial sector.
Membership and Reach
As of December 2020, GEFIU has 170 members who are CFOs or finance directors from various industries, including insurance, banking, and service companies. The association does not include consultancy firms.
Core Activities and Values
The association focuses on enhancing the role of finance in corporate leadership, fostering professional development among its members.
Governance Structure
GEFIU’s Board of Management is elected annually and can be re-elected repeatedly. Currently, the board consists of nine members, with Helmut Schnabel as the chair.
Membership Benefits and Services
Members have access to an annual conference in Frankfurt am Main, special half-day meetings, and networking opportunities. The association also produces an Annual Report in German.
GEFUI maintains five working committees, meeting several times per year, on: External Corporate Accounting, Capital Markets, Leasing and Asset Finance, Functions and Organisation of Finance and Treasury Activities in Multi-Divisional Corporation Groups, Medium Sized Corporations
Professional Development Program
Since 1984, GEFIU has been conducting a unique three-and-a-half-day High-Level Seminar annually for junior high-potential finance employees and finance managers from industrial corporations.

GEFIU contributes to the development of future finance professionals through its specialized seminars and educational initiatives.
